📌 This is NOT a bookstore or distributor – Bell Cow is a catalog that helps Minnesota libraries and indie bookstores discover local authors. We don’t sell books ourselves—we just make sure the right people know about yours.
📌 Minnesota Authors Only – This catalog is exclusively for authors who live in Minnesota or have a strong connection to the state (e.g., born here, long-time resident). If your ties to MN are looser than a first draft, this might not be the right fit. (At least for now, we will likely expand to neighboring states soon... just not yet.)
📌 Listing Fee is Non-Refundable – Once you submit, your listing fee is final. No refunds, no mulligans—so double-check your info before hitting submit!
📌 We Reserve the Right to Decline Listings – While we want to feature a wide variety of books, we do have some basic standards. If your submission is incomplete, misleading, or doesn’t align with our mission, we may decline to include it. (No worries—we’ll reach out if there’s an issue.)
📌 Libraries & Bookstores Make Their Own Choices – We’re here to spread the word, but we can’t guarantee that a store or library will stock your book. Our job is to make sure they know about it—you bring the magic that makes them want it!
📌 Accuracy Matters – What you submit is what gets printed. Typos, incorrect links, or missing info are on you—so proofread like your book deal depends on it.
📌 Deadline - For inclusion in the Fall 2025 Cattle-log, the deadline is: July 31, 2025
Take a look below for a sample page, and a mock-up of the indexes that will help book-buyers find your books.
We like to keep things simple—just like a good plot twist. You can secure your spot in the Bell Cow Cattle-log for $60, using any of the following payment methods:
(easy pay if you already have accounts on either platform)
(takes any credit card and multiple other payment services)
Got questions? Hit reply—we promise a real human (not a chatbot or an overcaffeinated intern) will help you out.
We'll send you an email, either:
1) confirming payment and that everything looks good, or
2) letting you know what's missing
Once complete, we'll share all the important dates and other details about when you can expect to hear from us. We'd like to add, "and when you can expect for the money to start pouring in," but our legal team has advised us against that. So, instead we'll say, "and when you can expect the catalog to be out in the world and for your information to be added to our online directory." (We know, it's not nearly as exciting, but it's much more realistic and within our control.)
That's not going to happen. Michael, especially, has this "thing" about unread emails. So you'll hear from us. But, if you ever want to reach out, feel free to drop us an email: bellcowproductions@gmail.com
Thanks for joining the herd!
